Hard to believe – 39 m placing boom on 3 axles!
With its truck-mounted concrete
pump S 39 SX, SCHWING opens
up a completely new dimension in
the 3-axle class up to 26 t. With
respect to weight and dimensions,
this machine has been designed
in compliance with European direc-
tives as a compact and ideal unit
for mounting onto 3-axle chassis.
The overall length is below 12 m.
Special permits and licences by
the authorities are not required for
this machine.
The “longest” boom on 3 axles is
a four-fold roll-and-fold placing
boom tried and proven more than
a thousand times. The joint angles
are designed in such a way, that
its universal working areas leave
nothing to be desired.
The pumping line on the boom is
installed in the length-neutral zone
of the boom sections to avoid
stresses. The use of uniform pipe
length makes commissioning of
spares easier. External joint levers,
closed section profiles and the
absence of forbidden working
ranges complete the site-oriented
machine concept.
The S 39 SX is equipped with the
innovative and fast SX-H stabi-
lization system, i.e. Super X arc
stabilizers in front and perpendi-
cular H stabilizers at the rear made
possible due to the SCHWING
anti-torsion frame principle.
This concept does not only result
in short set-up times, but is also
space-saving. Compared to con-
ventional machines with bulky
fold-out stabilizers at the, the H
stabilization needs 80% less space.
An advantage not to be sneezed
at in view of increasingly cramped
conditions on our construction
sites.
Special accessories like the single-
sided stabilization system “EASY”,
the concrete stop valve on the end
hose or the automatic lighting
system make this truck-mounted
concrete pump even more effi-
cient and result in stress-free and
profitable working.
The Vector Control
A further step towards easier oper-
ation and servicing of truck-
mounted concrete pumps in every-
day site work is the Vector Control.
With this electronic “brain” of the
SCHWING truck-mounted concrete
pumps, operators can always
“communicate” with their machine,
display operating data and check
machine status data.
An outstanding feature of this sys-
tem is the graphic display screen
with plain-text menus. The modular
Vector Control, which has been
tested under the most severe
mechanical and climatic condi-
tions, can be expanded in line with
future developments and is there-
fore the control platform for
auxiliary systems with new func-
tions.
The remote-control box
The remote-control box with 3 joy-
sticks for the placing boom and
keys for all functions of the con-
crete pump and auxiliary units
including EMERGENCY STOP is
moreover equipped with a radio
receiver featuring a “forget-me-not”
warning.
The concrete pump
The strong heart of the S 39 SX is
composed of the pumping cylin-
ders with their hydrostatic drive
and of the concrete pipe switch,
the so-called Rock valve. No other
machine component is so depend-
ent on experience and know-how
as this one. And no other manufac-
turer can give its customers the
security based on almost 50 years
of concrete pump development like
SCHWING.
The Rock valve
is exemplary for
its pumping characteristics, low
wear and high operational safety
and patented in almost all industri-
alized countries.
The power of the drive unit is vari-
able. The customer can choose
among three different hydrostatic
compact drives.
The drive units move the pumping
pistons with a stroke of 2000 mm
through large-volume pumping
cylinders with a diameter of
230 mm. Thus, it is possible to
attain remarkable delivery rates of
theoretically 96 m
3
/h, 138 m
3
/h
and 164 m
3
/h.
The exemplary superstructure
The SCHWING arc stabilizer sys-
tem permits a flat and compact
layout of the overall machine
superstructure with smooth and
easy-care surfaces.
The concave outline of the base
frame accomodates the control
module and the supply module
cabinet on the left and right sides.
The generous space conditions
facilitate servicing and mainte-
nance and ensure that everything
can be reached easily from the
ground. The supply module acco-
modates the oil reservoir with
integrated and protected oil cooler
of the separate cooling/filtering
circuit.
The righthand side of the control
module accomodates the pro-
portional hydraulic control with
redundancy devices for the boom,
separate Emergency Stop block,
control system for conrete pump
and agitator, tool-box and the
Vector Control.
